My students are predominantly Hispanic and it is my goal to share with them the love of theatre. My program is growing and with larger numbers comes the need for more resources. This year, we have done fundraisers to take over 80 students to see professional shows - for some of these students, it was their first time seeing a professional produced show. Our club is also funded 100 percent by the shows we put on. My students are eager to increase the caliber of plays/musicals we can do, but we always face the dilemma of not having enough funding or the proper resources. Currently, we are trying, piece by piece, to update some of our sound equipment as it hasn't been upgraded since the school opened and we have 1 of 9 functioning hanging mics in a large theatre that doesn't always have the best acoustics. Thank you for assisting in this effort to help my students create performing art.
