The South Carolina Department of Education has adopted Personalized Learning through the skills emphasized in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. My school district has emersed itself in implementing personalized learning by utilizing a flexible learning environment and giving students a choice and voice in their learning. As I implement Personalized Learning and College and Career Ready skills into my classroom, It is becoming more and more apparent that desks are not conducive to the learning process in personalized learning. I am hoping to be granted tables and chairs to increase collaboration among students through the use of tables rather than desks.
