Informational texts are supposed to make up at least 50% of the materials my students read. My classroom library is full of books, but we need many more informational titles that will also be fun and engaging for my students. Giving them these important books will not only help add to their learning, but also give them immediate access to interesting topics. Since I also have students reading at various levels, these books will ensure that each student has a book they can read, understand, and write about. It is important to me that they have a range of topics to choose from when they choose a book from our classroom library. Teachers are often responsible with the awesome task of purchasing enough books to fill their own personal classroom library. Having money to spend on my books is not always easy. I appreciate any help you can give me to fill up the informational section of my library.
