Reading is the cornerstone of learning. Good writers not only inspire young authors but reading also engages their mind. Students score higher on tests and are more curious about their surroundings when they are avid readers. Help advance our students' learning by donating books! It is an investment that will help further their love for reading, become better writers and be more imaginative. Promoting reading in schools helps students become life long learners and gives them tools to succeed in life. It builds their vocabulary which helps them to become better conversationalists and also helps them to see good examples of writing. Oftentimes, as a teacher, I use books as mentored texts to give students examples of fabulous writing. At our school, our books are falling apart and so dated that the kids do not want to read them! They cannot relate to the books and the books do not appeal to them. By donating to this purchase, we will be able to update our book collection and spark the students' desire to read again. Each book is interesting and at a level that students can understand. My students especially love series. I know they will particularly enjoy The Hunger Games and The Maze.
