With this upcoming school year being my first year teaching 2nd grade, I have found myself in need of various classroom materials. However, instead of trying to tackle everything at once, I have decided to start off by building my classroom library/Daily Five centers. I am lacking materials that will allow my students to feel cozy and comfy while reading and working in their Daily Five Centers. Reading pillows will provide comfort and excitement while my kiddos read. Book boxes will allow students to spend less time browsing and more time reading as they will already have their mini book collection at hand. Other materials such as drawer organizers will be used to keep our Daily Five materials and such organized and in reach. By donating to our project, you will not only help increase student engagement and focus in their literacy centers, you will ultimately help increase their literacy skills and academic achievement. I am excited for this upcoming group of students and hope my kiddos are just as excited to begin a successful school year!
