I have taught through novels for the entirety of my teaching career. I have been in the same classroom for 20 years. This means I have been using the same classroom sets of books for 20 years. My students deserve to read books without having to tape the pages together. They are sometimes unable to read at home due to a shortage of books. The gift of all the books I have chosen will mean students in my class are provided with a better opportunity to fall in love with literature. My students will benefit from having a literature rich classroom to learn comprehension skills in order to show growth in their reading levels and abilities. My students thrive when they can succeed. For some students, organization can be their downfall. Especially after the last year with some students doing distance learning from home, it can be hard for students to keep their desks organized. I believe organization is the very first step to being a successful student. With the help of desk organizers, my students can start to feel like they are succeeding.
