Maynard joined our school to make lives better for EVERYONE! He is a highly trained facility dog that came to us through Canine Companions for Independence. He is a beautiful, loving, two-year-old Lab-Golden cross who just graduated in February 2017! He lives with Mrs. N and goes to school each day to work with our students! Maynard came to us free of charge from Canine Companions for Independence, and we are now responsible for providing him with the things he needs to keep him healthy, clean, happy and fed! Grooming Maynard is something kids LOVE to do, but we only have one brush to use so only one child can brush him at a time. We also only have one toy for Maynard at school. Feeding Maynard is another exciting job that kids would work hard to earn. Having his own food, special dog dishes, and supplies at school would help kids see him as THEIR dog. We emphasize that he is part of their school family, and having toys and a bed to make his school more of a comfortable home for him would mean a lot to us. In addition to the routine veterinary costs, feeding Maynard can be expensive. What better feeling in the world can you have besides knowing you filled the belly of the most deserving dog in the world? He gives so much unconditional love to our students and staff, so we would like to do something nice for him in return.
