My 5th grade classroom is full of wonderful students. All live in poverty situations and don't have the means to bring supplies and other resources into the classroom. I was fortunate enough to have many things left behind for my classroom when I started last year, but many things have become old, broken, and unusable. Many of these students have not experienced using new supplies and I would love to be able to supply these things to them. At my school all students receive free or reduced lunch. Mary Eyre is a Title I school, located in Salem, Oregon. Our building is old, yet to many students it may be the only place that has heat and water to use each day. I want my students to feel excited about coming to the classroom, excited to use their educational materials and feel like they all have the same resources without being embarrassed about who bought them.
