I have requested balloons, table centerpieces and props for our graduation ceremony, that will be held on June 9, 2017 in our school gym. We really want to transform this space to make an elegant area for our students and their families to come together and celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of our graduates. These materials will be used to put an exclamation point on the culmination of years of hard work and dedication by students who have tremendous challenges in the form of disabilities. Despite these challenges, they strive hard to achieve and become independent. These graduation supplies and materials will validate all their hard work throughout their school lives. This will inspire them to strive even harder when facing the next chapter in their adult lives. Providing them with a celebration, will build their self-confidence and send them off into the world knowing that they are appreciated. This magical moment will inspire them to achieve their goals once they leave our school environment. It will also let our students know that they are appreciated and celebrated just like their non-disabled peers.
