My students gain hands-on work skills experiences in operating a school store in our building. They learn to stock snacks, beverages and hygiene items on racks, shelves and in cooler. The learn custodial skills in keeping the store clean by wiping tables, sweeping, mopping and removing garbage. We need larger garbage and recycle cans. The store also has a concession area. Students learn to operate a nacho machine, hot dog steamer, cold beverage/slush machine and popcorn machine. Students will use the aprons as a daily work skills uniform. Gloves are needed daily so the students can prepare hot food items and serve fresh popcorn using the popcorn seeds, popcorn oil, bags and cheese seasonings. The disinfecting wipes and dishcloths will be used to clean equipment and work area. All of the requested supplies will be used to operate this work skills program effectively. Despite my student's many challenges, they are eager to learn and eager to gain work skills. Operation Snack Shop really need your support help continue being successful and productive!
