In the highly stressful lives of my students, stress-management is a life survival skill. Growing up, my grandmother taught me how to sew and we'd sew together whenever life seemed insurmountable and through our creations, life became feasible. This same process is the transformative power that my students deserve to learn. Sewing has transformative and transcending power that can heal the soul and soothe stress and anxiety. With these sewing machines my students will not only learn a trade but also a stress management skill that will carry them through the rest of their life just as it has done for me.

About my class
