I am the librarian at an ethnically and economically diverse elementary school. For almost 85% of my PreK-Grade 5 students, the school is their only access to a library. One of North Springfield's primary goals is to improve student literacy. The library is at the center of this by cultivating a reading culture. All learning stems from reading. As a librarian, I continually strive to find creative ways to encourage reading by integrating writing, public speaking, inquiry, drama, and technology. Each of my projects will benefit the entire school.
