The students that come to music are always willing and eager to play instruments. However, many of our instruments are broken. It's hard to play sticks when you get slivers, worn out beyond repair, or we only have a few of them, and not every student gets a chance to play. As a music room we don't receive funding, so I am asking for help to get some essential instruments into my classroom. My students have done very well waiting for their turn to play an instrument, but so often I wish I could hand them out to a row of students, instead of to two or three students. If you've ever asked a child to sit and sing, or just sit and wait for their turn in an activity, you know how challenging it can be, and it happens daily in my classroom. Please, help me make music more fun and exciting than it already is for many of these students!
