These materials will ensure that pairs of students have the proper amount of coins to share and practice counting by 1's, 2's, 5's, 10's, 25's, and by 50's using coin money. These supplies also allows students to have enough coin money to make different money amounts without running out of coins. This project provides opportunities for students' to acquire real life skills in counting money and making change, while developing critical thinking skills. Additionally, using manipulatives provides ways to use multiple intelligences like, tactile and visual intelligences. These supplies supports my research on teaching critical thinking to kindergarteners using coin money along with traditional money math.
