My students need a variety of seating options in the classroom. I am asking for stools, cushions for their chairs, kneeling mats and inflatable exercise balls with stability feet. Studies have shown that a comfortable learning environment leads to less anxiety and enriched learning. Students with ADHD/ADD need to have the option to move throughout the day. These seating options will help not only my ADHD/ADD students but every student in the class. Just as we have multiple options at home to sit on the classroom should be the same. Sitting in a plastic chair for 7 hours a day can be very uncomfortable and does not allow for students to perform at their best. Flexible seating will help my students get their "wiggles out". In turn this will allow their minds to be clear so that they can learn throughout the day and become successful students.
