Students at my school are both eager to learn and gregarious in nature. It's a small school where students from all grades seem to have personal friendships with peers from all three grades. The staff also has a friendly disposition toward all of the school's students. Despite the good nature in the classrooms, the fact remains that many of our students feel the pinch of economic inequality, racial discrimination and psychological distress coming from a combination of their problems. Our staff counselors work hard to keep our student population positive and focused. Personally I work with students with special needs in a 12:1:1 environment. We work with an EL curriculum that emboldens kids to think outside their urban landscape. This guitar program will help these special needs kids spiritually, fundamentally and neurologically - as music in the classroom is proven to help kids grow academically.
