Involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skill. Arts learning can also improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. Not to mention it is fun! Our 6th graders need an outlet to express themselves, especially during these times. Karen Keys is a retired math and art teacher, and a member of the Folsom Art Association, Sacramento Fine Arts Center, West Coast Pastel Society, and the Placer County Art Council. She is willing to be the instructor for this program but will need the proper materials. Please consider donating to this needed program. It will be greatly appreciated.
