Having an area rug and bean bag chairs will give my students with disabilities a place to go when they need a break. Their ability to attend to tasks vary with each student, some of them require frequent breaks, and some simply need a place to go throughout the day due to behavior or sensory issues. Imagine what this will mean to my students to have a special, cozy, and relaxing place to go to where they can feel safe and be comfortable?! The carpet and furniture I have used in the past are items that were donated, second-hand items, and although I am grateful, they have become very warn over time. I would love to begin the new school year with a fresh new carpet and bean bag chairs for my wonderful students! :)
