Technology allows for students to learn about the world through advancements that a traditional textbook cannot provide. The students are able to research, gain knowledge, and create projects while incorporating technology. My classroom currently contains four student laptops that are used for everyday assignments; however, I would like to push towards more engaging, interactive learning through the use of technology. My students take a more sense of ownership and appreciation when given the opportunity to use technology while completing assignments. I would like to give each student in my classroom this feeling each day by providing them with their own classroom laptop that will be used for everyday assignments and projects. The increase in technology will allow the students to become more interactive with the lesson, which will result in the students gaining a more love of learning. This will also allow the students to take a more active role in their learning and provide a more conducive environment for when working in collaborative groups. I believe that knowledge is like a garden; if it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested. I know that with these requested Chromebooks, our garden will produce a great harvest within the minds of these students.
