This rug will provide my students with a safe place to meet and share their ideas with me and each other. We will use this rug to meet for Morning Meetings, during Reading, Writing, and Math times throughout the day. Morning Meetings are a great way to get to know each other and create a sense of community in our classroom. During work times such as Reading and Math it is important for students to share their ideas with each other and learn from each other. We are currently meeting during these times on the floor but I believe a rug would help us be more comfortable and define our personal space at the same time. This rug will give us a large meeting area while at the same time defining our own personal space with the rug border and the 30 rectangle spaces provided.
