The chairs in my classroom are hard and uncomfortable for the students to sit at all day. My students are hard workers, and many of them prefer to lay down and spread out when they work, especially when they have many books that they are using. I would like to be able to remove some traditional desks and chairs from my classroom and replace them with more spacious areas in the class for students to work either by themselves or in small groups. All students are unique and work differently. By providing alternative seating areas and allowing students to choose their best work space, will allow them to do their best work. Currently students will lay on the floor with their books, but it is cold and uncomfortable. Soft rugs and lap desks will allow students to spread out and work where they can focus best.
