We've all seen and been inspired by public art, maybe even murals and mosaics. My Art Club students will be beautifying and bringing joy and meaning to spaces that otherwise are dull and uninspiring in our school. With your help, the students will experience the creative process with artist-quality paints and mosaic materials, in a non-traditional setting within the school (our cafeteria and front foyer). In the afterschool setting, the students will be able to explore and work with materials that normally might not be used in the regular Art Classes. Through the group-think for idea generation to the final protective application of the grout sealer, the students will experience collaboration, material handling and the amazement from legacy-worthy public art projects.
