Students will be using this selection of books to build their independent reading in class and outside of class. Although students obtain their information in small snippets on their digital devices, it's important that students still have the stamina and skills to read novels. If students are inspired and provided with novels that are readily accessible, they will hopefully become inspired and engaged to continue a life of reading. With a selection of books at their fingertips, students will begin to have a hunger to turn pages and become exposed to the diverse world that surrounds them. Hopefully, with this classroom library, it will inspire hope, curiosity and a love of learning in each of my students. My students would love to see a bookshelf full of books that are always accessible to them. I can't wait to see the joy in their eyes as this classroom library continues to grow bigger throughout the years.
