Many of my students are diagnosed with ADHD and need a chance to use their added energies productively. These will also help my other students because, after all, they are your typical high-energy 8th graders. Many struggle with reading comprehension due to the fact that they have trouble giving their reading all of their attention. The bands have been proven to help with such issues. They are quiet to ensure other students are not distracted by them. They allow students to stretch and move their legs which is said to lower anxiety levels. Additionally, a child will not feel singled out because the entire class will have one on their desk.
