The City of Chicago is one of the most segregated cities in the United States, and we hope to build bridges among our communities through reading, discussion, and reflection. Our goal is to promote self-exploration and acceptance among our students who come from diverse ethnic, socio-economic, and geographic backgrounds. Any teacher will tell you that book clubs are an amazing way for students to learn about themselves by learning about others in a respectful, reflective academic environment.
