They will be tasked by interviewing their family members about the music that shaped their lives and turning it into a song with musical accompaniment. They will also be in contact with local music acts to observe and discuss what music means to a working musician, as well as exploring the music of from different cultures like Cuba, and India to analyze the differences that transforms music around the world. This exploration of their music identity and world music will result in a music festival held at the Che Cafe on the UCSD campus on May 18, 2019! Please help us make sure these students have access to basic instruments like a keyboard, tambourine, and percussion to learn the beautiful, and universal language of music.
