Unified sports is a combination of high school athletics and special education. The team consist of both general education and special education students and allows for people to compete that normally would not have the opportunity. We compete against large, well off school systems in both track and field. This project would give us starting blocks and batons that we have had to borrow from the regular track team when they were not using them. Being an inner city school, there are not enough supplies for both the regular track and the unified teams. A track wagon, measuring tapes, stop watches, starting block, running batons and other essentials will help our kiddos compete with some of the larger, more well off schools.
