I have a group of 22 first grade students who need a specific place to sit for read aloud time and directed lessons. My kiddos did not do well when I said, "Come join me at the rug for a math lesson." They bunched up in the front or "hid" toward the back. Then they changed their minds! So I put lines of painter's tape on the floor to show them where to sit. Many students still argued about their space. I revamped my system by making a grid with painter's tape with more success. Now the tape is being sucked up daily by the vacuum cleaner. Nooo! Please help support student discipline in my class with your generous donation and a new rug.
