My students LOVE to learn about words and read! During literacy centers, my class rotates to different centers while I work with reading groups that are focused on each group’s specific needs. My goal is to make my rotations as fun and engaging as I can to ensure that my students are focused while I am working with another group. One way is to provide them games that are interactive and fun. They are able to play independently or work together in small groups of peers. By the end of First Grade, students are expected to be reading at a certain reading level. The materials I am requesting include Word Building Puzzles and the bins to organize them according to my reading group colors. My students will work on the games in their color coordinated bin. They will be able to break apart the words in order to focus on their phonemic awareness as well as word building skills. By funding this project, you are helping an amazing group of students meet their goal of learning to read. I know that these games and organization materials will keep my students excited and engaged during their literacy centers every day!
