Our first grade students need amazing books to read, to share, and to learn. Our students especially need to see themselves represented within the picture books and chapter books they read. That being said, I've chosen lots of culturally responsive texts, books on coding and engineering, chapter books that boys and girls will love, and lots of books that focus on SEL learning, science, coding and engineering. I've also included books that reflect my students' interests like Pokemon, Minecraft, Star Wars and the like. I want the very best for my students and that includes their classroom library they will use, know and love every day of first grade and beyond! These books will serve many superstar first graders after them. You'd be investing in many classes of first graders!
