My English Language Students (ELLs) need 5 small, kid friendly laptops for word processing. Having laptops would greatly benefit them in learning to type their final drafts of their writing. This would help the students to focus on building their typing skills, which will be a skill that will help them when taking state/district assessments on-line. It would also help them with vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and critical thinking. They will also be able to see where they need to revise and edit. In addition it will motivate students to do their best work. They also love adding clip art to their finished typing! Finally, my students will be working on having a collaborative classroom book published. It would be great if they could type their final paper. The children love to type their writing on the computers; we just don't have enough laptops in the class for everyone to be on at the same time. My students need to critically look at their writing. I would love to be able to monitor my student's work while they are all typing. My students are very much looking forward to having a laptop that they can use often to support their academic growth in writing. We hope that you can support our project.
