My math students work with programs such as frontrow, Khan Academy, and Prodigy on computers. These fantastic programs provide individualized help for students by targeting skills where each student needs to practice to make the most gains. Reports are sent to me to help guide my instruction based on progress. My ELA students are growing as readers and writers by using frontrow and Newsela to experience exciting real-world articles and responding to comprehension questions and answering through writing. I am able to see what needs my students have as they work in these programs. More time with technology will also prepare my students for the new state testing which requires them to type and submit answers rather than using a paper and pencil format. Our school does not have enough technology for students to get enough time using these programs.
