I am a special education teacher at a Title 1 school in North Charleston, SC. My classroom serves a remarkable and diverse group of 9 students with autism in grades 3-5. They require varying levels of support, but each student in my class benefits from engaging, hands-on academic materials, sensory tools, and experiential learning in order to access, and grow in, both academic and functional skills.
