Our Communication Education Support classroom is new to the school starting in the Fall of 2020, so we will need a variety of materials for a strong start of the school year. These students with special needs learn better utilizing hands-on resources. The education tools that are requested through the Kaplan website will supply students with manipulatives that will increase their sensory skills, math skills, fine motor skills, literacy skills, social skills, and organization of the classroom. The focus for our class is blended learning using whole and small group learning along with technology and centers. The centers help the students to practice the skills that are taught in groups. The students have low academic skills, so one on one reinforcement is a huge component of the blended learning approach. The materials will increase the opportunity to build exciting learning centers for the students to work independently or with teacher support.
