The band room at our school was never designed for the number of students in our program. In the last 10 years we have doubled student participation in the high school band and more than doubled our inventory. The chairs that we currently use are not stackable and therefore always create a space issue. By having chairs that are stackable we can free up floor space by placing the chairs on carts to maximize space. This allows us to better utilize minimal space during percussion and choral classes. This also allows the band room to be used at our school for other functions. We do not have an auditorium at our school and the band room is one of the larger spaces. It is frequently used for other non-band purposes like blood drives, other after-school​ activities, additional practice space, and as a meeting hall. We will need a total of 80 chairs. This is phase 1 of fully funding the needed chairs.
