I am a Special Education Teacher who work with students with learning disabilities. Students come into the classroom full of personality and curiosity. They are eager and excited to learn, therefore making learning fun and meaningful is so important. The effects of working within a low social economic community is that children are at greater risk for several negative outcomes such as poor academic achievements, excessive absences, abuse and neglect, behavioral and socioemotional problems and the list goes on. I want to provide my students with effective resources and materials to better assist students with different needs. Since this is my second year teaching, I plan to use manipulatives for math, reading and writing materials and increase STEM interest in students with learning disabilities.
