When I first began working, I bought some educational apps to use with an old hand-me-down iPad. I have purchased licenses to apps to treat articulation delays, language and reading comprehension deficits, vocabulary weaknesses, sentence structure, and expressive communication and social skills. These iPad apps have been developed by Speech-Language Pathologists to provide engaging and motivating materials to students with delays and challenges. It also has allowed me to track their progress over time as well as conveniently treat a variety of students with less materials. Over the last few years, this iPad has served us well by helping 100+ students meet their speech sound and social and language goals. Some students have even grown their speech skills so much that they have graduated from speech and no longer have needs! Unfortunately, this iPad is now out of date and cracked. Some apps won't update anymore, and the iPad frequently lags and crashes. I hope to continue using the same apps on a new, better iPad. I also hope for an iPad case to keep it safe.
