This past year our school has adopted the Next Generation Science Standards and I am looking for resources that will help further my students' learning about the human body and how living things are organized. The Human Tissue Microscope Slide Set will help them with their qualitative observation skills, it will provide them with a model that they can use to write and talk about and it will help them understand the concept of scale. Giving low-income students access to resources they wouldn't normally get will open doors for them in the future. I have a lot of students that are interested in becoming scientists and engineers. A lot of these students get limited science in elementary. For some, this is their first time in a classroom just dedicated to science. The more meaningful science and engineering topics I can expose them to will impact their career choices in the future.
