These materials will make it possible for our 5th grade students to have a "Chess Club". Students will learn about planning ahead and using strategic thinking skills to succeed. They will learn to be good problem solvers and be quick thinkers. Having these chess sets will allow 20 students at a time to be a part of "Chess Club". Other benefits to students include improving memory and logical thinking. Chess will spark creativity and originality in our 5th graders. Students will learn to think strategically by planning ahead and working out each move. Chess has been shown to improve memory.
