Children need to possess strong and effective social and emotional skills, as well as positive character traits, before they will succeed in the classroom. These social skills games and character education resources will assist in my efforts to develop these skills and traits in our students.
Building self-confidence and character in our students will provide a strong foundation for future academic success. Children learn through play and will learn the skills of communicating, cooperating, negotiating, taking turns, and playing by the rules as they engage in these activities. In addition to learning the skills necessary to interact and communicate with others, students will learn to talk about their feelings and develop skills required to appropriately deal with real life issues that they may struggle with. As the Social Worker I will utilize these games and materials while I work with students individually, in small groups, and during classroom Character Education lessons.
