Funded Nov 16, 2023I have no words to describe how much my students love their STEAM based centers in the library!!!! Their creativity, critical thinking, and ability to work together in groups has been a joy to watch and I am never less than amazed at the creations they come up with!
The supplies I was able to provide based on your donations made this possible. It indeed does take a village to raise our most precious future resource.... our children!!! Thank you for your support of our students.
As I have worked may way through linking STEAM based centers in our media center to the books our students love reading and our state standards of learning, I realize that having them use their critical thinking, creativity, and trial and error skills are even more important than I imagined when I wrote this project!!!
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping in educating and providing resources to our most precious future resource.... our children.”

Funded Mar 12, 2019The addition of a variety of sports books into our library collection impacted our students in a variety of ways. The books were placed in baskets for the students to browse through and check out. Our physical education teacher placed the books in her gym where several exercises were practiced in large group activities.
However, the biggest impact was the number of students who said that they would like to try a variety of sports outside of school. Some mentioned soccer and golf while others were interested in yoga and flag football.
With childhood obesity in our country at an all time high students need the opportunity to read and learn about exercise and healthy activities. In our community, there are opportunities for organized sports where students once involved can develop the essential skills of sportsmanship, teamwork, and cooperation. Thank you so much for helping this very important project get funded.”

Funded Apr 4, 2017There are many benefits to the study of literature, especially for young children. Classic storybooks have prove their worth over a span of 60 years, and young children still check them out and ask for these stories everyday. I thank you for allowing our students to have new copies of these wonderful stories that I remember reading with my mother during childhood. Your generosity is inspirational and appreciated. Let's look at what you helped our students learn.
Dr. Seuss -
On being yourself... "Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You." Don't try to be someone else. No one can smile, laugh or talk like you.
On choosing your own direction in life..."You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go..."
On making the world a better place... "UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."
So I say to all of you who still believe in the power of books... THANKS!!!”

Ms. Labaire

Funded Dec 5, 2011This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to our school library. The books you helped to provide for our students will not only strengthen their reading and literacy skills but help to develop a knowledge and understanding of the importance of healthy physical fitness and activity.
Our schools are currently experiencing a budget shortfall and unfortunately libraries are at the forefront of financial cuts. For our students in grades PK-2 developing literacy and healthy lifestyle habits are essential for future success and wellness.
I appreciate your donation and want you to know that without donors like you, our students would not have the needed resources to maximize learning during these tough financial times.

A Great Book Is A Great Book No Matter How Old! - Classics
Funded Apr 5, 2011This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my library. The classic and timeless books that you helped fund will inspire a lifelong love of reading in children for years to come. Our school along with others across the nation is currently facing a budget shortfall, so without your generosity, our students would never have had these new books.
The most important thing that we can do for our children is to help them develop their reading skills. It is no exaggeration to say that how well children learn to read affects directly not only how successful they are in school but how well they do throughout their lives. When children learn to read, and love to read, they have the key that opens the door to all the knowledge of the world.
Without donors like you, libraries across the country would go without. ”

1990 HP Printer?? Yikes!!
Funded Feb 23, 2011This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my library. The printer you helped fund allows our students to engage in researching, investigating, and presenting their work. We've used the printer to help students locate and print call numbers that allow them to find critical resources in the library and to print out their individual research projects and writing.
Our school is currently facing a budget shortfall, so without your help, my students would never have had this vital resource. For younger students, becoming independent learners in researching, investigating, and problem solving is a key component of future academic success.
Without donors like you, libraries across the country would go without. ”

Funded Apr 21, 2010Dear Rosa, Vivian and Pershing Square, In a time when our country is experiencing economic challenge and hardship, I find it extraordinary that others are willing to donate, help, and share in the education of our children. DonorsChoose.org and YOU have helped me commit to differentiating instruction that will meet the needs of every student that walks through the doors of our school.
The technology that you have funded will enable students to create projects in innovative, exciting, and creative ways, motivating them to become life long learners and experience instruction in new and modern ways!! The students know about my request for camcorders and ask each day if we will be getting them!! Now with excitement I can say YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ”
