My students are very active and I would like to give them more freedom in the classroom to engage with their classmates. Flexible seating will allow my students to have more seating options outside of traditional seating, and they will be able to interact with more of their classmates because they will rotate every week with their seating options. My students will need the Champion Sports Vinyl dots, plastic stools, bean bag chair and flower pillows so they can have a variety of options for flexible seating in the classroom. Teaching 50 students a day means I will need a lot of seating options to rotate in the classroom. I truly believe flexible seating will make learning math and science fun for my students because they will be fully engaged and they will be learning in a fun and comfortable learning environment. I have several students who have short attention spans. Students like this need more options and I need to keep their attention so they can stay on task in the classroom. With flexible seating I want the kids to have more hands on educational games and activities they can use at their assigned seating in lieu of worksheets. My students will use the magnetic tens frames and science stem building blocks to improve their math and science skills. Number sense and learning how to think and create are very important skills to have early on in school. I truly believe these resources will keep my students actively engaged while at their assigned flexible seating stations . My goal is give students activities they can do independently while I work at my table with students who require additional interventions in skills they are having trouble with. I know my students will enjoy the classroom more while learning.
