I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have always incorporated lots of movement breaks in my classroom and encouraged my students to sit where they are comfortable. In the past few years this has morphed into sitting on the floor, using pillows, a bench, folding camp chairs and standing desks! What I have are actually regular classroom tables that my awesome janitors raised the legs of. they are not the correct height for everyone but we are making do. I would love to have the funds to purchase items to set up a correct standing table and some items for alternative seating. I have read study after study about the health benefits of standing desks. I want to do what is best for my students. We are grateful for donations in any amount. I am also looking in to upgrading my aging classroom library with multiple copies of books so students can partner read and read in small groups.
