Fourth grade can be a challenging year for all students, the gift of this technology will encourage them to stay on track and take pride in their work. My students will use the laptop to work both individually and with small groups. Students will be able to use it for basics such as researching information and publishing their work. Often times my students really want to publish their writing and we can not find a computer that works or a printer that someone is willing to share in order to print their work. My students will take great pride in knowing that they will be able to publish their work on a constant basis and be able to display it typed. Additionally, this would be a special piece of technology students would look forward to using help engage different learning styles and increase their love of learning. Overall, they will become more invested and take pride in their learning because they will have the addition of a brand new, working computer which includes many features and programs for them to enhance their student work with.
