I would love to bring a new aspect of reading into my classroom and that is by having a mobile listening center. Because there is not enough space in our classroom for a stationary listening center, my students cannot enjoy listening to the stories that they love. Listening to stories is a volitle part of learning how to read, as well as, building on listening comprehension. With that being said, if we had ipods with ear buds, this would allow me to upload stories to them and give my students the opportunity of finding a cozy place in our classroom during centers or individual reading time, to enjoy listening to these stories that they love so much. I know these ipods would be put to great use and it would give my students another option during reading time and increase their love for reading.
