As an educator, adult, and parent, I love to read and I want my students to feel the same way. My classroom library should be a place that my students really enjoy and should look forward to visiting. Unfortunately, my current library is outdated, and funds to invigorate my library is scarce. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind and being that I am very familiar with these books, I know these books will ignite my students love for reading. I have spoken with every child in my class and discussed with them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Almost every student asked for the books I requested. Every book that is placed in my library is treated with the utmost respect. With the addition of these books, my students will be able to choose from an assortment of books that will allow them to read independently or strive to read independently at their own grade level. Children need books that interest them and the best way to not only increase reading their reading ability but also grow to have a passion for reading, is to read more. These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an amazing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences. I would be so grateful if my students were given the opportunity to experience the literature I was so fortunate to already be exposed to. Thank you!
