Literature has an active role across all parts of our daily curriculum. Having a document camera will build engagement in my classroom. Now that we are engaged we want to expand and develop our reading behaviors. This will help build on their prior knowledge and engage my students in a new way of learning. The Life Cycle books will be used in our new science unit called Living Things That Grow and Change. These books will provide an opportunity for higher level discussions that come from explicit details on life cycles. They will use these books to brainstorm and create a life cycle on an animal mentioned throughout the texts.
