If each child had their own computer, I could transform my classroom into a new age, solely technological classroom. Learning would be so much more beneficial because everything we do is normally online. This becomes very difficult when we have to share computers with another third grade classroom. Currently, we are uncovering the "Mystery of Roanoke Colony" through a research-based writing project. Unfortunately, I can only use the computers once a day for 40 minutes. If each child had their own computer, they could research when they were done with their given activity, and we could uncover many more research projects. We also use math and language arts programs to enhance learning within the classroom. Again, it's very hard when my class has to share computers. It's a shame because my students truly love school and live to challenge themselves. They are intrinsically motivated for 9 year olds. Please help us!
