In addition to my own teaching style, I'm hoping to increase the number of student led projects where they can synthesize their learning in a way that is meaningful and real for them. I'm trying to create a classroom where students can learn at their own pace, in their own learning style, in the most comfortable environment possible. I hope to create a classroom that is structured, but not suffocating. Activity centers, a mini-fridge for select break time snacks, calming study music while they're working, etc. I really hope to make math class one they look forward to, and not one that is dreaded because of rote memorization and dullness.
