My goal is to create a positive reading environment that presents students with multiple opportunities to interact with books and print in order to promote a positive literacy experience. The magnetic letters and display board will allow students to manipulate letters and sounds in creating words and sentences. The pointers allow students to practice tracking as they read and highlight specific aspects of print. These materials will encourage student interaction with literacy and promote learning through active engagement. By providing engaging reading activities, my students will increase their knowledge of letters and their sounds and develop the basic literacy skills necessary to become successful readers.
